Mika Elizabeth Ono


Mika Elizabeth Ono is a writer, editor, and communications professional with a keen interest in many topics, including health, science, education and the inner workings of people and their lives.

A graduate of Reed College and the Fletcher School at Tufts/Harvard University, Mika is currently editorial director at the University of Redlands, a private, nonprofit university that blends liberal arts and professional education. Formerly, she was director of communications at The Scripps Research Institute, a leading independent biomedical research institution that offers a graduate program ranked in the nation's top 10 in biology and chemistry. 

She is also the author of a variety of articles, reviews and other works, including the award-winning book, Ancient Wisdom, Modern Kitchen: Recipes from the East for Health, Healing, and Long Life (Da Capo Lifelong Books, 2010).

Mika, who was recently profiled by San Diego Professional Editors Network, lives in Southern California with her family.
